Get your life back in order in 2009!

I feel that there is a shift that is going on in our society and our lifestyles. The shift is getting our lives back to the basics where they should be. For the last 8 years we became a society that was only thinking about what we can gain. I call it the gimmie gimmie society. We were only thinking about what our social status was, what kind of house we lived in and what kind of car we are driving. All these things have gotten a lot of us in trouble not just with our finances but with our integrity within ourselves. Here are some tips to help you get started to getting your life back to the basics and in order.

1. Know your mortgage options. Get a clear picture of your options and deal with your mortgage situation. To get your options free go to askmeme.com and click on Save My Home Expression.

2. Look at your finances, if you need to get on a financial diet, do it. Trim and eliminate luxuries you can do without. Take the time to evaluate and get comparisons on the services you need. You can find a cheaper rate by investing time to make calls and get quotes. Make sure your money is making sense. Make sure you start a savings account othet than your 401K. If you need emergency cash and you get it  from your 401K, you will have to pay it back with interest and penalties. If you have a saving you will not have to pay the interest or penalties.

3. Job security. We should all know by now that there is no such thing as job security. Some of us need to get second jobs and there are those that have skills that can make them extra money on the side or even turn it into a business. Think hard and evaluate yourself and find those hidden talents that can be put to use.

4. Tax Season. The money that you get from your tax return can help you save your home. If you can save your home with your tax return and maintain your monthly payments, please do so. Don't take that money and spend it on material things. Put that money to good use and also start you savings with it.

5. Make room for God. Take the challenge and make room for God in your life. My pastor challenged us to make a room in our home a prayer room. I went home and looked all around my home and I found the perfect spot, my closet. I cleaned out that corner and declared that place to be my prayer corner. By doing this I have already begun to see things clearly. So, I challenge you to make a room in your home a prayer room.
